Figure 5. In vivo Th2 differentiation of naive CD4 T cells promoted by basophils. B10.A Rag−/− mice were implanted with an IL-3 pump. At 7 days after pump implantation, 2 × 106 5C.C7 CD4 T cells were intravenously transferred to the recipients. The mice were then intravenously immunized with 50 μg PCC protein. Cells from lymph nodes, spleen, and liver were harvested at day 7 after immunization and restimulated to measure cytokine production. Shown are intracellular IL-4 and IFNγ production of Vβ3+ CD4 T cells. Experiments were repeated 3 times with similar results.
