Exposure to apoptotic ECs resulted in enhanced release of IL-8 and MCP1 protein. HMEC-1 cells were incubated with apoptotic or necrotic ECs for 3 hours and the release of IL-8 and MCP1 protein into the supernatant was measured by ELISA.
