Formation of ULVWF strings under various conditions of shear stress.
Washed platelets were perfused over histamine-stimulated HUVECs at flow rates that generated fluid shear stresses of 2.5, 20, or 50 dyne/cm2. Formation of the ULVWF strings with adherent platelets was evaluated at the end of 2 minutes of perfusion and quantified in 20 continuous view fields (× 400).
