DCs and lymphocytes were identified by their forward- and side-scatter properties and the results were analyzed by paired t test. A reduction in the number of CD52+ DCs and lymphocytes was observed during the culture period. Addition of LPS caused maturation of DCs as evidenced by up-regulation of CD83 and loss of CD1a (data not shown). This was associated with complete loss of CD52 by DCs but no further change in expression by lymphocytes.
