HCMV exposure increases levels of MHC class I, MHC class II, and CD83 on CD11c⁺ DCs through IFN-α-dependent and -independent mechanisms. (A-I) CD11c⁺ DCs were incubated with mock or TB40/E (MOI, 20) in the absence or presence of IFN-blocking cocktail, as indicated, and were cultured for 84 hours. Cells were then surface labeled with antibodies to MHC class I (HLA-ABC), MHC class II (HLA-DR), or CD83, respectively, followed by intracellular staining of IEA.
