QCG supplementation rapidly protects RBCs from intracellular ROS formation during oxidative stress. RBCs pretreated with either PBS, Gln (Q), or QCG were labeled with DCFDA, placed in a glass bottom petri dish per sample condition, and allowed to settle for 45 seconds before given a bolus (red arrow, A) of PBS (gray line, B-D) or 50 μM H2O2 (red line, B-D).
