Alloimmune-mediated renal tissue damage was increased in allo recipients. BALB/c animals were lethally irradiated and received transplantation with CD90.2⁺ splenic T cells together with BM cells from either syn BALB/c or allo MHC-mismatched B6 donors. Kidneys were harvested on day 14 after HCT to investigate the expression of NGAL and elafin in whole-kidney lysates, and immunohistochemically stained for elafin.
