Shown are the length of exons (in basepairs), length of introns (in kilobases), and the sequences of the exon-intron/intron-exon boundaries of the βc chain gene. All boundaries are in agreement with the consensus sequences of eukaryotic splice junctions. Because of unknown technological problems, we were not able to characterize the 3′ sequence of intron 1.
