Abdominal ultrasounds in the SS clinic were performed only on subjects with symptoms. Numbers of symptomatic and asymptomatic subjects are shown by genotype. The number of asymptomatic subjects is expressed as a proportion of the total number of subjects in the genotype class, whereas the number of symptomatic subjects with gallstones is expressed as a proportion of the number of symptomatic subjects in each genotype class. P < .001 was regarded as significant after correction for multiple testing.

*

P < .0001, compared with the 6/6 wild type.

P < .02, compared with the 6/6 wild type.
