Lineage-depleted cord cells were transduced with MIG, Notch1-IC (n = 7), or Notch4-IC (n = 10). Cells were sorted for GFP+ and placed in suspension culture with growth factors. After 1 and 3 weeks in culture, cells were stained with monoclonal antibodies against CD34, glycophorin A, CD33, CD41a, and CD11b, and the mean (± SD) number of GFP+ cells expressing the markers per 105 input cells was calculated from total cell counts and the percentage of positive cells by means of FACS analysis.
