Total fetal liver cells (FLCs) were isolated from E14.5 embryos. Erythroblasts were double stained for CD71 and TER119, and R1-R5 cells were sorted by FACS as described in Figure 1. Results are presented as the number of colonies per 105 nucleated cells. The numbers are averages from duplicate cultures of 3 independent experiments. FLC indicates fetal liver cell.
