CFU-E and BFU-E in the BM and spleen of the mice treated with PHZ and killed on day 3 were quantitated by hematopoietic colony-forming assays. Values are means ± SEM from 5 mice in each group. Differences between +/− and −/− and +/+ PHZ-treated mice were statistically significant (P < .0001), as determined by Mann-Whitney U test.
