DCs were generated in the presence of GM-CSF and IL-4 or IL-3 and IFN-β and were activated with LPS (1 μg/mL) for 24 hours or with 3T6-CD40L transfectants for 3 days. Cytokine levels in supernatants were measured by ELISA, and results were expressed as means ± SEM of 6 independent experiments on different blood donors.
P < .05 compared with DCs generated in GM-CSF and IL-4 (Wilcoxon test).
