Nine patients died in chronic phase; they are listed by age. In case no. 185 liver failure was attributed to acute paracetamol toxicity. In case no. 515 the exact duration of IFN-α treatment could not be retrieved, but was estimated to be about 30 months. In addition to these 9 patients, 2 patients died because of BMT, one allogeneic and one autologous. Both were submitted to BMT in CCgR.
