Monocyte-derived DCs from house dust mite–sensitive patients or from healthy donors were pulsed or not with 100 ng/mL Der p 1 for 24 hours. Der p 1–pulsed or unpulsed DCs were then incubated for 2 hours with anti-CD80, anti-CD86, or both antibodies before addition of autologous T cells for 24 hours. Supernatants were harvested, and the amounts of IL-4 and IFN-γ were measured by specific ELISA. Results are expressed as the mean concentration (pg/mL) ± SEM.

P < .05 as compared with Der p 1–pulsed DCs. Italicized entries indicate an effect by the antibody.
