The MIP-1α values are given as the mean ± SE. T-cell lines were generated as indicated in the text. Bone marrow–derived macrophages (APCs) from MIP-1α−/− B6 and bm1 mice were incubated with the T-cell lines for 24 hours. The supernatants were then harvested, and the MIP-1α concentrations were determined using ELISA. The minimum level of detection of MIP-1α for this assay is 3.75 pg/mL. MIP-1α−/− B6 macrophages do not generate any detectable MIP-1α during the 24-hour incubation.
