Values for fetal liver LTC-IC were derived from limiting dilution experiments described in the text. In each experiment, the total number of CFC (of the type indicated) produced in all of the cultures was divided by the total number of LTC-IC placed into these cultures. Values for cord blood and adult marrow LTC-IC were similarly calculated from the limiting dilution experiments reported in Hogge et al.43
