Day 8 cells were cultured in serum-free liquid medium with EPO at 2 U/mL. After 7 days of incubation, the cells were counted. Viability was determined by the trypan blue dye–exclusion test. The mean ± SD of quadriplicates is shown. Expansion-fold is the number of cells after 7 days of culture/the number of initial cells. Statistical analysis was performed using Scheffe’s F post hoc test.
