*Thymus and spleens were obtained from 100 to 105 days post-transplant. Data represent the average of six mice per group pooled from two separate experiments as shown in Figs 6 and 7.

Thymocytes were stained for CD4 and CD8 expression, and splenocytes were stained for CD3 and B220 expression. The absolute count of each population was calculated by the total number of cells times the percentage of the population.

B-cell proliferation was tested after 3 days in culture with LPS at 10 μg/mL, and T-cell proliferation was tested after 3 days in culture with ConA at 5 μg/mL. Data represent cpm × 10−3.
