Decreasing amounts of DNA, representing all major DR alleles, were mixed with DNA of known type and HLA-DR typed using PCR-SSP and nested PCR-SSP to assess the sensitivity of both methods (shaded areas represent where alleles were detected; NT, not tested due to false amplification when this primer mix is used).
