Percent ISCs formed during cyclic oxygenation/deoxygenation of low density (45% Percoll layer) sickle cells with various concentrations of NAC at 37°C. Δ ISCs represent the percent difference in the number of ISCs compared with ISCs on smears from 16 hours cycling in the absence of NAC.
