In vitro differentiation potential for the subset defined in Figure 1A in limiting-dilution assays. The hematopoietic potential is strictly to the c-Kit+, which comprises Mp and EMp precursors. The higher frequency and absolute number of Mp compared with EMp argue in favor of their earlier emergence.
