P values were calculated using the unpaired Student t test (with or without Welch’s correction) for continuous variables or Fisher’s exact test for nominal variables. Bold indicates statistical significance. Cytopenia(s) was defined as absolute neutrophil count, <1.8 × 103/µL; hemoglobin, <10.0 g/dL; and platelet count, < 100 × 103/µL.11  Time frame for bone marrow biopsy at initial evaluation was <6 mo with no clinical intervention.
