Four Mpl transgenic lines were generated from the same transgenic cDNA construct and bred into the Mpl−/− genetic background. The blood counts are shown plus or minus standard deviation. n indicates number of transgenic mice on Mpl−/− background. Note that marked thrombocytosis was found in all 3 strains expressing the transgene. The strain M15 was chosen for detailed analysis and subsequently referred to as “Yall.”
