PHA-stimulated PBMCs and MDMs were cultured in the absence or presence of 1 μg/mL VLPs for 36 and 24 hours, respectively. A total RNA was extracted from the cells, and then DNA microarray analysis was performed as described in “Microarray analysis.” Data show genes known to be associated with cytokines which were selected using the DAVID bioinformatics tool.41 

NS indicates not significant; TNSF10, TRAIL (tumor necrosis factor–related apoptosis-inducing ligand).
