PBMCs from patients or normal controls were cultured for 24 hours with or without soluble mouse-CD40L:CD8 fusion protein + rat anti-mouse CD8. Cells were washed and stained as described in Materials and Methods. Results shown are the mean values of CD19+ cells expressing the different cell surface markers studied in response to CD40 ligation. n = number of donors studied.
