CMCs were cultured in methylcellulose at a density of 104/mL; colonies were harvested 20 days after plating. The cells were stained with berberine sulfate, and fluorescence intensity of individual cells was examined using the system photometer. Each value represents the mean ± SE of 100 to 250 cells.
