PIPLC treatment was followed by centrifugation. The blank mixtures of PIPLC-treated white ghosts, in which PIPLC was not present, were also analyzed. The pellet obtained after white ghosts treatment with PIPLC was submitted to isoosmotic treatment, as reported in the legend to Table 1. For details, see Materials and Methods. The data are the mean values of four to five experiments ± SD values.
