NOD/SCID mice were transplanted with 1 × 106 mononuclear CB cells and the murine BM was analyzed after 6 weeks by flow cytometry to assess the presence of human CD19+ B-lymphoid cells, and by plating in methylcellulose cultures to assess the presence of human myeloerythroid progenitors.

Abbreviations: BFU-E, burst-forming unit-erythroid; CFC includes granulocyte, macrophage, and granulocyte-macrophage colony-forming cells; TNTC, too numerous to count.

*

Percentage of total leukocytes in the murine BM.

Number per 6 bones (2 femurs, 2 tibiae, and 2 iliac crests).
