NOD/SCID mice were transplanted with serial doses of mononuclear cells from human CB (n mice = 91), BM (n = 67), or G-CSF–mobilized PB (n = 70) and the murine BM was analyzed after 4 to 6 weeks by Southern blot to determine the level of human cell engraftment. Mice were scored as negative if no human cells were detectable. The number of experiments from which the pooled data are taken is indicated for each cell source in parentheses.
