Splenic cells from 12 chimeras killed at day 65, 70, or 77 after their engraftment were phenotyped by two-color FACS analysis. Human cells were identified as CD45+ H-2Kd− cells and their percentage was calculated as follows: % human cells = 100 × (CD45+ H-2Kd−/total ungated cells). CD4/CD8 ratio was determined after double staining with anti-CD4 and anti-CD8 MoAbs. This ratio was equal to 1.87 before the graft.
