Predominant mutation Mutation detectable by direct Sanger sequencing of PCR amplicon pool 
Single mutation Single missense mutation detectable in a sample subjected to Sanger sequencing of PCR amplicon pool 
Double mutation Two missense mutations detectable in a sample subjected to Sanger sequencing of PCR amplicon pool 
Low-level mutations Mutation detected only by sequencing of an individually cloned PCR amplicon 
    (1) Add-on mutation Missense mutation emerging in addition to predominant mutation 
    (2) Independent low-level mutation Missense mutations present in separate clones relative to clones harboring the predominant mutation(s) 
Compound mutation Two or more missense mutations in the same sample and the same BCR-ABL1 molecule (Figure 1) 
Polyclonal mutation Two or more missense mutations in the same sample, but different BCR-ABL1 molecules (Figure 1)
