Hemolytic anemia was defined as hemoglobin levels < 100 g/L, elevated reticulocyte counts, elevated lactic dehydrogenase, and unconjugated bilirubin. All patients had a negative direct antiglobulin test.

Reference value < 5 years: 14-37μM; 5-15 years: 25-68μM.

Reference value < 5 years: 1.7-5.0mM; 5-16 years: 1.7-7.3mM.
