Body weight, litter size, liver NHI concentration, spleen NHI concentration, and hepatic hepcidin–to–β-actin mRNA were measured in pregnant Tmprss6+/+ (n = 5) and Tmprss6+/− (n = 7) mice at gestational day 18.5. Data are presented as mean ± SEM. The hepcidin–to–β-actin mRNA expression ratios are normalized to a nonpregnant 8-week-old Tmprss6+/+ female value set to 1 (data from Figure 1).
