Wild-type and caspase-7−/− mice (Casp7−/−; n = 4-8) were injected intraperitoneally with PBS or 20 mg kg−1 LPS for 6 hours before serum was collected to measure secreted IL-1β, IL-18, IL-6, TNF-α, IL-12p40, CXCL1, and CXCL2. Results are expressed in picograms per milliliter and represent mean (± SD). Data were analyzed with the Student t test. None of the LPS-induced serum cytokines and chemokines were significantly different (P < .05) in wild-type and caspase-7–deficient mice.
