Summary of mean hematocrit (%; ± SD) for GATA-1-surv transgenic (tg) and wild-type (wt) mice over the course of 1 year (n = 7 mice per group). No statistical differences were found between the 2 groups except at the 3-month time point, which displayed a statistical significance of P = .0485 (unpaired, 2-tailed Student t test). Overall, we interpreted these results to demonstrate that survivin overexpression in GATA-1-surv mice had no effect on hematocrit levels.
