DBA mice were treated with PBS (100 μL) or hrAnx-A1 (1 μg subcutaneously) twice a day for 12 days. Animals were killed 12 days after the immunization (pre-onset, day 12) or at day 3 after the onset of the disease (day 3 of arthritis) and the total number of inguinal lymph node cells was counted. In another set of experiments, cells (2 × 10⁶/mL) were cultured with (CII) or without (medium) collagen (50 μg/mL) and the levels of IFN-γ were measured after 72 hours of culture. Values are mean ± SE of 6 to 8 mice.
