cDNA from the populations indicated was PCR-amplified with BV-BC primers and cloned into vector (see “Materials and methods”). The TCR joining segments (BJ regions) were eluted by comparison with the BJ gene segments in the GenBank. The NDN-region nucleotides were defined as all nucleotides that could not have been accounted for by any of the germline BV or BJ sequences.
