cDNA from the populations indicated was PCR-amplified with BV-BC primers and was cloned into vector (see “Materials and methods”). The TCR joining segments (BJ regions) were eluted by comparing to the BJ gene segments in the GenBank. The NDN region nucleotides were defined as any nucleotide that could not have been accounted for by any of the germline BV or BJ sequences.
