Blood was drawn through retro-orbital venous sampling into tubes containing 0.129 M sodium citrate. PRP was obtained by centrifugation at 270g for 3 minutes. Washed thrombin-stimulated or unstimulated platelets were diluted to 108/mL in autologous plasma and incubated with O157LPS 1 μg/mL, fixed, washed, and incubated with monovalent O rabbit antiserum O157-O56. LPS binding to thrombin-activated washed platelets was decreased by preincubation of the platelets with anti-mouse CD62 antibody.
WPs indicates washed platelets; wt, wild-type;—, not applicable; and NT, not tested.
P values were evaluated by comparisons of platelets from wild-type mice and mutant mice.
n - 22 mice.
n = 31 mice.
Not significant.
